007 James Bond Quantum of Solace Platinum Trophy

This is sort of an old video, I got the platinum about half a year ago, but I thought it would be fun if I posted the video here.

This game was great. It doesn't have the best graphics, but it is an older title. The game is smooth, plays well, and doesn't take too long to get the platinum - you just have to be pro online.

PSN Pass? Kiss my ass.

What the flying shit? Sony has announced and confirmed the "PSN PASS" program. Apparently, you will need a code to play newer games like Resistance 3 online (probably includes Uncharted 3). You may have seen the image on the back of the Resistance 3 box art.

Personally, I am very disappointed because I am a fan of purchasing used games from various marketplaces like Kijiji, Gamestop, and Microplay. This affects us who enjoy purchasing used games because we are not getting the same game that would have been purchased new.

I don't care if the new copy of the game is only 5 dollars more, I don't need to pay more for plastic wrap sealing and a lousy one time use code.

I hope this PSN Pass, Online AXESS, and all the other crap flops hard.

Playstation 4 set for 2012?

Rumours from Taiwan indicate a Playstation 4 due for 2012 with a minimum of 20 million units planned for shipping. The new system is supposed to have motion based controls built into the system, similar to Kinect - but better.

Wait, WTF?

What happened to the PS3's 10 year life-span plan? What happened to Sony not being bothered by Microsoft and Nintendo releasing their next consoles?

I don't want to pay 800 dollars for a PS4. I think Sony should wait it out 3 more years and lower the costs. 2012 is too soon. I'm still feeling my PS3, so many games to play still.

No Trophies? WTF?

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion was a ground breaking game at its release. The game features a first person fantasy RPG experience that still remains unrivaled to this day. The level of immersion and attention to detail put in the game is astonishing, which makes this game one of the finest RPG's to have entered the gaming realm.

Having said this, it was brought to my surprise that Oblivion would see a re-release on the Playstation Network Store as a download-able copy - BUT NOT INCLUDING TROPHIES. BOO!

Boo on you Bethesda and your lack of proper support for your games. Don't give your games a re-release if they can't keep up with the times. Oblivion came out like 5 years ago at PS3's launch, and you're giving it back to customers with no added features?

Anyways, a lot of other titles are doing the same thing. It's absolute trickery.

For instance Ubisoft released Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 on PSN recently. This game also came out around 5 years ago during PS3's launch year and to be quite frank, it sucks pretty hard. Who are the people buying/RE-buying these shitty old games with no added new features?

Doppelgängers in Games

Came across this great article on IGN.com.

I've noticed Nolan North in 99% of the voice overs in games out there, but I never noticed how similar these characters from fan-favorites look.

Take a peek yourself, lol.

The Niko from GTA4 and whoever the other bud is really shocks me - same with the Robin from Batman Arkham City and The Apprentice from Star Wars Force Unleashed 2.

Wheres the creativity? I would expect something like this from EA or THQ or Activision, but ROCKSTAR? Come on? Was this just a coincidence? Or was it planned from the beginning?

PS Vita, when will I get one?

Dang, this thing can do everything. Check out this new promotional trailer released by Sony that showcases many of the features the PS Vita has to offer.

That's right, Nintendo Wii-U does not support Blu Ray.

Personally, I think this is a good idea, enough devices already play Blu-Ray like PS3 and most computers, so good on you Nintendo for cutting the cost of the device.

High density optical discs is the disc format of the Wii-U, could this be a method of protecting against piracy?

Presentation, proper gameplay, clutch beats, good feel, no shitty - everything a good racing game should have. Not many games in the genre do it right, but DiRT3 has got-it-goin-on, if you know what I'm saying.

I don't know what's going on, but I woke up this morning wanting to play SF4 online and I CAN'T! WTF!

"An error has occurred. You have been signed out of Playstation Network (80710092)"

This is really bugging me, come on why is PSN down again!? Could this have something to do with the store coming back up? And where was the warning/heads-up for this?

Epic Gaming Moment #3 - Ratchet & Clank A Crack In Time PLATINUM TROPHY

Another intense gaming moment caught up tape, this time it's the Ratchet & Clank A Crack In Time PLATINUM TROPHY unlocking.

We had everything completed in the game, all collectibles, hard mode playthrough completed, side missions, etc... the only remaining trophy was getting over 10000 points in the little mini game. Believe it or not, it's pretty freaking tough, and it's not as easy as it looks.

Fortunately, you can do the mini game with 2 players, working cooperatively to get the 10000 points.

Supposedly PSN went down this morning again for maintenance.. didn't affect me.
There's some speculation that it has something to do with the PS Store coming back online.. but I don't think so, still no store as of 7:11PM EST.

Dhalsim owns so hard, ahhh can't beat this bud. Apparently you can hit Dhalsim's punches when he stretches his arms if you time it right. One of those hits are in the video, its something to work on.

I can't believe PSP remakes for the PS3 don't have trophy support. I'm also very disappointed that Square-Enix is releasing classic-legendary-all-time RPG hits as PSone classics on the Playstation Store because these won't have trophies either.

I would have loved to play Final Fantasy V or Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger with trophy support.. but we just can't have ice cream with cake.

News just surfaced today that there will be NO Playstation Store available this evening. This news is upsetting to most of us.
I was really looking forward to logging into the store, and redeeming all of my preorder codes just like many of you gamers that purchased games in the past 5 weeks. Come on Sony, give us the store back soon! I need my updates!

OMG yes! Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker that was originally a PSP exclusive title is now being remastered in HD for the PS3 system. I can't wait for this! Peace Walker was an amazing game, and to play/see it on the PS3 would be an absolute treat.

LMAO Nolan North is in EVERY game - Makes no Sense

I have played enough games to notice that I keep hearing Nathan Drake's (from Uncharted) voice in almost every second game I put in my PS3. It makes no sense. Nolan North (the voice actor for Nathan Drake and many other characters) is not even that great of a voice actor. To me, his voice has become a pain to hear in any video game that isn't Uncharted.

Why are the people in charge of audio in games still hiring Nolan North to do the voice overs? I could do a better job, and it would be a lot more flavourful - I guarantee.
I don't want to hear Drake's voice in Assassins Creed (as Desmond) or Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (as Deadpool).. AS DEADPOOL?? DRAKE = DEADPOOL WTF? Capcom, seriously?

Epic Gaming Moment #2 - Split / Second PLATINUM TROPHY

Back for another epic gaming moment caught on tape.
Today's video shows off the unlocking of the platinum trophy in Split Second for PS3. This game was pretty sick, very good arcade style racing game jam packed with action. If you are looking for a racing simulator, this isn't the game for you. But if you're into fast paced racing with explosions and lots of action, then this is right for you.

The platinum trophy was not too hard to earn, the single player trophies are pretty easy - it's the multiplayer trophies that are tougher to get, however they are not impossible.

Been playing Super Street Fighter 4 online all day, challenge me. Lets get that BP up.

L.A. Noire COMES OUT TOMORROW!

L.A. Noire is coming out tomorrow morning so pick up your pre-orders or start thinking about going to the store to pick up your copy. This game is HOT - from what I've seen.
This game is guaranteed to be a unique experience for all gamers. Rockstar Games have implemented new motion capture technology in this game that makes the character animations look LIFE-LIKE.
From what I've seen the map is huge and looks identical to 1940s Los Angeles.

IGN Entertainment has released a review for L.A. Noire , be sure to check that out.

PS3 Hard Drive Upgrade from 250GB to 500GB

Another update,
I've just been finishing up my hard drive upgrade from 250GB to 500GB. The extra space is necessary if you enjoy downloading games from PSN and have many games installed.

Check out the video, ask me if you need tips on how to do it. The video shows you what to do after you have put in the new HDD.
Copy the latest firmware PS3UPDAT.pub obtained from the Playstation website, and place it in a folder on a USB stick or SD card (formatted to FAT) called UPDATE (case sensitive). Place the UPDATE folder in a folder called PS3 so that the path length looks like this : (SD/USB > PS3 > UPDATE > PS3UPDAT.pub).

The procedure is super low invasive, and it does not take long either. You just need a screw driver, and the ability to screw a total of 4 screws. It only took me a few minutes to make the swap.

Don't forget to backup your data though before removing the hard drive. Use the PS3's backup option under System Settings.

Epic Gaming Moment #1 - Mean Jelly Bean Machine PLATINUM TROPHY

Let me just say this is one hell of a game. Sega's Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection for the PS3 is a must have for any collection.
The disc is packed with something like over 30 classic Sega Genesis titles. The game also includes trophies!

Robotnik's Mean Jellybean Machine had to of been one of the toughest puzzles games ever made. Watch the video and see why.
Getting the trophy for beating this game was the last one I had to unlock in order to unlock the platinum.
